I back up my blogs using a plugin WP DB Backup. I will always restore my website to the last settings if anything happens. I use WP Security Scan free plugin to scan my blog regularly and WordPress Firewall to block requests that are suspicious-looking to fix hacked wordpress.
It will all start with the basics. Try to use passwords. Use numbers, letters, special characters, and spaces and combine them to create a unique password. You can also use usernames that aren't obvious.
